Claude Tag Brings Team Agents to Slack

2026-06-25 · anthropic

Anthropic launched Claude Tag as a new way for teams to work with Claude directly inside Slack. The beta lets Enterprise and Team customers grant Claude access to selected channels, tools, data, and codebases so people can tag @Claude and delegate work asynchronously. The release points to a more collaborative direction for Claude Code-style workflows: one shared Claude can build channel context, remember relevant information, and take initiative when ambient behavior is enabled.

Key Features or Updates

Claude Tag starts in Slack and supports scoped identities for different channels or teams. It can break requests into stages, use approved tools, respond in threads, and schedule work over hours or days.

Impact on Developers

Engineering teams can move agent delegation into the same Slack channels where planning, triage, and incident work already happen. The shared context model reduces repeated setup and makes agent work more visible to teammates.

How to use it

Claude Enterprise and Team admins can pair Claude Tag with Slack, grant tool access, set spend limits, and test it in a private channel. Anthropic says Claude Tag replaces the existing Claude in Slack app, with a 30-day opt-in migration path.
