Builds pre-clone repositories, install dependencies, and run setup ahead of time, with Cursor claiming 10x faster environment boot and 3x faster time to first token. The system also preserves the last successful build, so a broken dependency update does not immediately take agents offline.
This matters because startup latency is one of the biggest frictions in cloud-based coding agents. By separating environment preparation from live agent sessions, Cursor is making remote agent workflows feel more dependable for repeated coding, debugging, and review tasks.
Teams already using Cloud Agents should move stable setup steps into the install command and leave only fresh runtime services in the start command. Existing environments can enable Builds from the Cloud Agents dashboard and then inspect build logs, commit SHAs, and active build history from the new Builds tab.
